ONLINE WRITING PROGRAM OPTIONS
If you can’t spend a summer or a year in Hollywood, but want a solid foundation in the craft of screenwriting –
Act One recommends transitioning to Los Angeles in order to fully take advantage of opportunities to break into the industry, but if you can’t spend an extended period of time in Hollywood, an online version of the Workshop and Certificate Program is now available.
Online students will come out for the one week, all-inclusive retreat in Malibu, California so they can engage in foundational discussions of story, influencing culture, and the synthesis of faith and film. At the retreat, online students get to meet Act One staff and faculty, who are real Hollywood professionals. They also get to meet their classmates and the greater Act One community. After the retreat, the Online Workshop will consist of a series of live and recorded lectures, activities, Q&As with filmmakers and chats that engage all who are participating online. Online students are also mentored throughout in a small group and receive individualized feedback and instruction from a Hollywood professional on all assignments.
