EXECUTIVE PROGRAM INTERNSHIPS
Internship Period:
To coincide with the Act One classes, most internships begin on June 18, and run for 10 weeks -- ending around August 24. Depending on the availability of interns and the needs of the various employers, exact start dates may vary.
Internship Pay:
These are generally unpaid positions. Hollywood internships of this nature are rare --- and rarely pay. The reward is being one of the privileged few to get a foot in the door.
Internship Hours:
Interns are expected to work a minimum of 20-30 hours Monday through Friday in addition to attending 6 - 14 hours of classes each week. Many of our students elect to work fulltime hours but this is not a requirement. Generally, our employers have been flexible in working out schedules to accommodate the needs of the intern as well as the demands of the program.
Job Responsibilities:
The Executive Program seeks opportunities for interns to be involved in as many facets of the Employer’s work as possible. Depending on the intern’s area of interest, daily tasks may include script coverage, research, meetings, phones, scheduling, and other office work. Interns may also be given access to higher-level aspects of the job, which may include finance, legal, negotiation, and creative decision-making. Ideally, interns would be allowed to “shadow” a mentor to observe the Executive’s daily interactions with colleagues, vendors, business associates, etc.
Intern Placement Procedure:
Selected candidates will be contacted to determine the best match to available Hollywood internships. Although we cannot guarantee job responsibilities, Act One works closely with candidates and key contacts within each company to ensure the experience is advantageous for both interns and employers.
