Where are you located?
The Act One offices are situated near the famous Hollywood sign in the heart of the Los Angeles production community, only a short drive from major studios and networks including NBC Universal, Warner Bros., Disney and Paramount Pictures. Our address is 2690 N. Beachwood Drive, First Floor, Hollywood, CA, 90068 (map).

Is the Act One office open to the public?
We highly recommend contacting the Act One staff in advance to set up an appointment. We are a small staff often working long hours and with crowded schedules.

How do I arrange for Barbara Nicolosi to speak at my event?
To invite Act One’s founder and board chairman to speak at an event, make arrangements through her blog at www.churchofthemasses.org.

Can Act One send me contact information for any of its faculty?
Strict policies prevent us from giving out any contact information in order to protect the privacy of our faculty members.

How can I become an Act One faculty member?
If you are an established professional in the entertainment industry who would like to be a guest speaker or faculty member in any of our programs, we would be very pleased to discuss your involvement at Act One. Please feel free to contact our offices or email info@actoneprogram.com.

Is Act One able to send me contact information for any of its alumni?
If you are an established production company, agent, or producer offering potential writing or executive-track opportunities, we would be very pleased to recommend our alumni. Please contact us at 323.464.0815 or email info@actoneprogram.com.

Can Act One provide me with a writer or executive to develop my original idea?
Act One is not an agency or management company, and currently does not possess the resources necessary to match its alumni with opportunities not coming from established companies, agents or producers. However, if you would like to know more about producing or developing entertainment projects, please consider applying to our Executive Program.

Can I get someone at Act One to review my script (or book, treatment, movie…)?
Act One cannot accept any script, treatment, idea, book, outline or finished film submitted to us aside from screenplays submitted to our script consulting service. As an educational program, we simply do not have the resources to respond to the volume of such requests we receive.

Is Act One looking for scripts to produce?
Act One is not a production company, nor does it have plans to produce or co-produce any projects outside of its Glenville Short Film Program, which is open only to Act One alumni and employs scripts written within the program.

If I attend an Act One program, will you help me get a job or sell my script?
When one of our alumni is deemed ready, Act One is happy to make recommendations accordingly. Although we expect to continue seeing many success stories from our alumni, Act One cannot guarantee that all program participants will sell a script, produce a movie, or launch a career in Hollywood.

I live outside of L.A. How do I participate in your programs?
Students from all over the world have attended the Writing and Executive programs, and many travel from outside the state to live temporarily in L.A. for the duration of the program. Some Act One programs are held out of town, and may be in your area. Check out our Screenwriting Weekends and updates on future Writing Program locations.

How do I know if I am ready for Hollywood?
If you think you possess the rare gifts, drive and passion to succeed in the entertainment industry, we encourage you to prayerfully consider moving to Los Angeles. If you are a screenwriter, we recommend attending the Act One Writing Program or Screenwriting Weekends, which have helped many aspiring artists determine whether or not they belong in Hollywood.
