TV Track
All students attend about six hours of Writing Program classes every Saturday. These classes give an overview of writing for TV and film, with an emphasis on film. Students interested in careers in television have the opportunity to take additional "TV Track" classes, which recreate the atmosphere of a network television writing room. Acceptance to the program does not guarantee acceptance to the TV Track. At the beginning of the program, students will have the option of applying for the TV Track. 8-12 students will be chosen to participate. To be accepted to the TV Track, students must demonstrate an ability to pursue a television writing career. Please see the FAQ for more information.
After the Program
Act One students get much more than classroom instruction. Once the program ends, we continue to work with our students to help them break into the industry. Included in the tuition is a mentorship with an industry professional, and we offer ongoing events and advanced courses for alumni.
Act One is unique among writing programs in that we are not profit-driven. We are wholly devoted to the careers and spiritual well-being of our students.
